Responsibilities
- Promote and uphold Redpath’s safety systems, standards, Code of Conduct, and Fitness for Work requirements.
- Lead by example to drive a strong, positive safety culture across the underground operations.
- Conduct and actively participate in safety meetings, toolbox meetings, risk assessments, investigations, and project-related forums.
- Ensure compliance with all legislation, Redpath policies and procedures, and client requirements.
- Identify hazards, report incidents or near misses, and take corrective or emergency action when required.
- Oversee underground maintenance performance to meet daily and weekly plans while ensuring quality and housekeeping standards.
- Coordinate and supervise maintenance teams to achieve operational targets.
- Highlight operational or performance gaps to the Project Manager and recommend corrective actions.
- Support development and implementation of 3‑month, weekly, and daily maintenance schedules.
- Promote a professional work environment and represent Redpath positively.
- Support the development and training of personnel to maintain operational capability.
Qualifications
- relevant Heavy Vehicle Mobile Equipment / Diesel Fitter trade qualifications;
- experience working in mining, shaft sinking, heavy industry or major construction projects;
- valid manual drivers licence;
- current First Aid & CPR qualification;
- demonstrated strong fault finding skills;
- auto electrical knowledge;
- ability to read schematics;
- demonstrated leadership ability;
- high levels of initiative and the ability to work well under pressure;
- strong planning and organisational skills to schedule and complete tasks;
